Liberia TRC Project in Providence
Working in collaboration with The Advocates for Human Rights, volunteers in Boston, Providence and Hartford will assist Liberians in those metropolitan areas who voluntarily come forward to tell their stories to the TRC. The Advocates for Human Rights is partnering with law firm Dechert LLP, the Liberian Community Association of Rhode Island, Inc., the Roger Williams University School of Law, as well as attorneys from Edwards, Angell, Palmer, and Dodge, and DLA Piper, to carry out this work.

Individuals who give statements will have access to referrals to counselors, immigration lawyers, and social services. Information from interviews will be included in the Liberian Truth and Reconciliation Commission's historical record and will form the basis for The Advocates' report and recommendations to the TRC.

Statement taking in New England has begun!  Please call the number listed at right to set up an appointment to give a statement.
